Training

Katrina completed her undergraduate training at Western Sydney University (Bachelor of Arts, Major in Psychology, Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology). She then went on to complete further postgraduate training at Macquarie University (Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Psychology) and has since returned to Western Sydney University to complete her Master of Clinical Psychology. She has further completed a Graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling (Couple and Family Therapy) through the Australian Institute of Relationship Studies.

She has undertaken training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Systemic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy for Eating Disorders.

She holds national registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist and is registered provider of psychological services with Medicare and with WorkCover. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.

Clinical Experience

Katrina has worked in specialised eating disorder and generalist services. Her clinical experience has included working at the Butterfly Foundation for Eating Disorders – Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) This is a specialist outpatient eating disorder treatment service that provides intensive group therapy, meal support and supportive family therapy. She has also consulted with bariatric services to support patients undergoing bariatric surgery and co-morbid disordered eating concerns.

Katrina’s clinical training has also involved her working with Relationship’s Australia to provide systemic counselling. Katrina’s clinical training has further involved her working with inpatients and outpatients at the Sydney Clinic; including co-facilitating an outpatient dialectical behavioural therapy group. Finally, Katrina has also worked in private practice treating a range of disorders including eating disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, drug and alcohol issues, trauma, domestic and family violence, and work-related concerns. Given the diversity of her clinical experience she is well equipped to effectively deal with a range of issues.
