Training
Richard completed his undergraduate (BSc Psychology – Hons) and postgraduate (Masters of Clinical Psychology) training at Macquarie University. He has undertaken training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Narrative Therapy. Richard holds national registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist and is authorised to provide psychological services under Medicare.
Clinical Experience
Richard’s clinical training involved him working with inpatients and outpatients at the Blacktown Mental Health Unit, including co-facilitating an outpatient dialectical behavioural therapy group. His training also involved working with children and young people at both the Blue Mountains Hospital and the Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Penrith. Richard also worked with a variety of clients across the lifespan at the Macquarie University Psychology Clinic. Richard has experience assisting people with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, behavioural issues, trauma, chronic pain and other disability/health-related concerns. Richard has worked for several years in disability research, and currently also works with aboriginal children and young people in out of home care.
